What is your favorite class time?
    Although 6:30 is the most convenient time, my favorite class is Wednesdays at 8:00 AM.
What is your favorite cross fit movement?

My favorite cross fit movements are muscle ups and hand stand push ups. I can’t come close to doing them but I enjoy watching other people suffer. Other than that I would have to say rowing. In addition to the workout I like the challenge of trying to slow my pace down as much as possible while still keeping my 500 meter time consistently below two minutes. For me that’s a challenge.
What did you think of your first CrossFit experience?
My wife Lindsay got me into Crossfit with a New Year resolution gift certificate. We were both in that January Elements class and had to jump up to a 1 foot box. Piece of cake I thought. I jumped, tripped with my right toe, and as I landed, both quads cramped simultaneously. What did I think of my first CrossFit experience? I was thinking about the difficulty of hiding all the pain I was in and that this was going to be a long haul! 
What advice would you offer to someone just finishing Elements or thinking about trying CrossFit?
Despite what I stated above I did live to tell the tale. For me, as an older adult, joining CrossFit was a godsend.  I meet a lot of people my age and even younger with multiple health problems, often related to an unhealthy lifestyle. (Over weight, diabetes, pulmonary issues, bad knees, bad hips, etc.) Although I’ve been active my whole life, my eating/nutrition habits were poor. My weight slowly increased year after year. By the time I started at Diamond Hill I weighed 205 and was shopping for 37″ waist “comfort fit” pants. After completing two nutrition challenges at Diamond Hill, I changed my approach towards nutrition, lost 35 pounds, increased flexibility and strength, and now purchase comfortable fitting 33″ waist pants. So my advice for people finishing elements is, go for it!

What do you do when not at CrossFit?

Working in my dental office, serving as President Elect of the Rhode Island Dental Association, and Chairman of the Cumberland Conservation Commission takes up lot of my spare time. CrossFit has been my primary exercise form of exercise but also will get in a run, bike ride, or go skiing when I can.  Also, just binge watched “The Night Manager”.
