What is your favorite class time?
My favorite class time is 7:15am on Saturday morning. It’s great to start out the day with a great WOD and then go enjoy the rest of the day.
What is your favorite cross fit movement?
So far, I have really enjoyed the gymnastics elements of CrossFit. Prior to CrossFit, I would have laughed if you ever associated me with attempting gymnastics. It is amazing how many challenging movements there are using simple equipment and your body weight.
What did you think of your first CrossFit experience?
My first CrossFit experience was at DHCF as a drop in. I had heard of CrossFit, but had not tried it before. It was a bit intimidating at first, but I settled in quickly. I do remember that we ran a 1-mile time test in my first class. I knew immediately that CrossFit was going to be challenging, and I liked that. There is a lot to learn between the acronyms and the movements, but DHCF has a great community of people that encourage you along the way.
What advice would you offer to someone just finishing Elements or thinking about trying CrossFit?
CrossFit is for everyone. You will see people that excel at weightlifting and others that excel at endurance exercises. We are all unique and have our own strengths and weaknesses. CrossFit gives you an opportunity to learn from others and to push yourself outside of your comfort zone.
What do you do when not at CrossFit?
I have kids that are still young, so they keep me quite busy. We just entered phase where everyone is running around doing activities, which is fun and challenging. When we are winding down, we love to watch the Red Sox. Outside of CrossFit, I love to play recreational tennis. It is amazing how much CrossFit and being more fit overall has helped my tennis game.
