Why did you decide to join DHCF?

I had been running for a number of years but was becoming bored.  I had seen CrossFit competitions on TV a few times and was intrigued by the variety in the workouts.  When DHCF opened up around the corner from my house I went in to check it out, tried it out and signed up as a member.  I was hooked immediately.

What has been your greatest achievement at DHCF?  

Being consistent – I have been a member since April of 2013 and I make it a priority to workout faithfully 4 or 5 times per week.  Showing up is more than half the battle and although there are some days I may not feel like it I still go.

What is your favorite movement? Least favorite movement? 

I can’t say I have one favorite movement but I enjoy the variety of CrossFit.  I’m not the biggest person so I tend to perform better with body weight movements: push ups, pull ups, burpees, handstand pushups, running, etc.

My nemesis has been double unders but I feel like I will get them eventually.  The one movement I really don’t enjoy though is Turkish Get Ups. There is nothing enjoyable about them!

What words of encouragement would you offer a new Elements graduate?

Keep showing up!  CrossFit is challenging. You will be sore and may feel awkward for a while when doing some of the movements.  Remember everyone was new at one time and the things you are feeling and experiencing are the same things that every other member felt when they started out.  In short order you will start to feel better and gain more confidence in the movements and yourself.  DHFC is a well run facility with a great community of coaches and members.
