What is your favorite class time?
Chances are you will find me working out and singing along with the music poorly at the 530PM class
What is your favorite cross fit movement?
I would say my favorite movement is definitely not burpees. So far I think it is the clean and jerk. It is just an amazing feeling when you get the weight above your head.
What did you think of your first CrossFit experience?
I was really nervous and almost cancelled right before my first crossfit class. After my first class I realized even though I felt exhausted I knew it was something I was going to enjoy and excel at. I’m glad I have stuck with it
What do you feel is your biggest CrossFit accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment so far has been competing in the Festivus Games. I put in so much extra work that it really showed me what I was capable of. It was such a thrill to do my first competition and to make those memories with such a great group of people.
What advice would you offer to someone just finishing Elements or thinking about trying CrossFit?
My advice: Don’t be nervous and don’t be afraid to ask for help or clarification. I know that it’s intimidating to walk in, see a bunch of people lifting heavy weights, doing movements you can’t do, and breathing heavy, but just remember that we have all been right where you are now. NO ONE will laugh at you for having to scale a movement. We all started at that same place. If you come in with a good attitude, a willingness to learn, and work hard, you will be just fine.
What do you do when not at CrossFit?
When I’m not at CrossFit you can find me at work as a bio medical researcher, out on some adventure, hiking mountains and camping, trap shooting, fishing, or cooking up some great food for a BBQ
