Why did you decide to join DHCF?

I decided to join DHCF because I was turning the BIG 40 the month following joining in November and I told myself I wanted to be somewhat in the best shape of my life at 40.  Also, I was going to Antigua that January and that helped the motivation to try to get into relatively decent beach shape.  I had heard a lot about CrossFit and I was ready to commit and give it a try.

What has been your most memorable achievement at DHCF?

I wouldn’t call it an achievement, but participating in the Open this year was certainly memorable.  I was amazed to see how many people participated worldwide and I found myself getting hooked over the 5 weeks of competition.

Do you have a favorite WOD or movement?

Not particularly, but I do enjoy looking on the website once you have done a particular WOD or movement a few times to see the progression over time.

What words of encouragement would you offer a new Elements graduate?

Start slow, pay attention to your form, and gradually increase from there and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish after a year.  If you can be disciplined on showing up consistently, that is more than half the battle and the results will take care of themselves.

How are you feeling about your upcoming competition?

I am nervously excited for the competition as this is my first CrossFit competition.  I am looking forward to participating with Jeff and competing with other CrossFitters.  It will be fun to get the adrenaline going.

I know you are a faithful member of the 5:30 crew, would you ever consider a Saturday WOD?

I would, however, the better question is if my wife would as we have very active weekend schedules with the kids.
